Lady Windermere's Fan

This is the set for 'Lady Windermere's Fan' that was on at the Lighthouse theatre in Poole in February 2010.
My main inspiration was a circle in which Victorian society 'circles' around itself, unaware of a world outside of match making and gossip.
I tried to achieve a big contrast between a female and male world. The drawing room of Lady Windermere represents the female world of marriage and trying to live up to the victorian ideals of purity and 'the angel in the house'. Lord Darlington's room represents the male world of Victorian society, a world of pleasure and double morale.
